The Branch Kids Ministry is dedicated to partnering with parents in teaching their children about who God is and what His Word says about Him, and us. We believe that God has given parents the primary responsibility of discipling their children, and our ministry’s goal is to support them in that God-given role. We care for and instruct children as young as infants all the way through 5th grade, and aim to teach them how to enjoy corporate worship, sit under and learn from the preaching of God’s Word, and love by serving one another.

We have three classes for children ages 0-2nd grade, which use The Biggest Story Bible curriculum and The New City Catechisms for lessons:

"Crawlers" is our nursery class and includes infants up to children who are toddling, meaning they are learning to walk and just starting to talk. Parents can check in these children before the service begins and hand them off to our sweet volunteers.

"Walkers" is our pre-K class and includes toddlers, who are actively running around and talking well, all the way up to 3-4 years old. These children can be checked in before the service and can choose to go straight into class, or stay in worship with their parents. We believe this is a great age for children to be included in corporate worship, gaining joy from it and realizing the value in it. If your child stays in worship, they will be dismissed to their class before the sermon begins. You can let one of our volunteers escort them to their class, or you may walk them yourself. In this class, children play, sing songs, have short lessons, and do hands-on activities.

"Talkers" is our lower elementary class and includes children who are the age for kindergarten through 2nd grade, meaning they are learning to read, write, listen to, and respond to a lesson. These children are checked in before the service begins and are escorted to class by our volunteers right before the sermon begins. This class does an interactive lesson, discussion, and activity.

Our Walkers and Talkers classes memorize one catechism every month from “The New City Catechism” booklets. Each child is provided with their own booklet by the church to take home and bring back to church.

Our upper elementary children, 3rd-5th graders, are a part of our whole service. They can go to the check-in desk before the service to receive special sermon notes to help them learn how to listen and engage with the message. We believe this age is perfect for training our children how to sit under exegetical preaching and apply what they’ve learned. At the end of their guided notes, there will be questions for students to answer about the sermon, general questions for parents to engage in a discussion with their children afterwards, and additional tips and resources for parents on discipling their children.
